1997 var året hvor Original Dr. Nielsen's Bitter blev forgyldt. Ved The International Wine and Spirit Competition i England fik bitteren tildelt en sølvpræmie. Kun o,8 point var den velsmagende bitter fra at opnå guld, men det flotte resultat vill givetvis have glædet Dr. Nielsen, som i dette år ville være fyldt 100 år.

Men hvem var denne Dr. Nielsen ! Han var en ivirg jæger og friluftmenneske, som indtil 1937 boede i en sidefløj til Hobro Apotek, hvor han sammen med sine gode venner apoteker-familien, lagde et stort arbejde i at finde"den rigtige bitter". Mange aftner blev brugt, før det en dag i de ellers så mørke 30'ere lysnede - en alsidiog bitter med mange anvendelsesmuligheder var fundet! I 1988 gav Dr. Nielsen's familie opskriften videre, og lod Johs. M. Klien Distribution A/S vinkyper færdiggøre værket.

Et udtræk af 8 forskellige urter - heriblandt pomerans og stjerneanis - danner basis for den blide og karakterfulde Dr. Nielsen's Bitter. I duften nikker vi især genkende til anis, mens smagsspektret spænder vidt over de benyttede urter og afrundes i en raffineret, perfekt afstemt eftersmag.

1997 was the year when the Original Dr. Nielsen's Bitter was gilded. At the International Wine and Spirit Competition in England got bitteren awarded a silver prize. Only o, 8 points was the tasty bitter from achieving gold, but the great result appropriations surely have pleased Dr. Nielsen, who in that year would have turned 100 years old.

But who was this Dr. Nielsen! He was a ivirg hunter and open air man, who until 1937 lived in a side wing of Hobro Pharmacy, where he and his good friends chemists family, did a great job in finding the "real bitter". Many evenings were spent before it a day in the otherwise very dark 30'ere brightened - a alsidiog bitter with many applications were found! In 1988, Dr. Nielsen's family recipe again, and let John M. Klien Distribution A / S vinkyper complete the work.

An extract of 8 different herbs - including Seville oranges and star anise - is the basis for the gentle and full of character Dr. Nielsen's Bitter. I smell nods we especially recognize the anise, while flavor spectrum spans more than they used herbs and rounded in a refined, perfectly attuned to taste.
